The senior secondary school at Rose Valley High School is a 3 stage programme beginning with SSS 1. It encourages students to use the study skills they have acquired in the junior school to take charge of their own learning in order to prepare them for the life beyond secondary school. Senior students follow core subjects leading to their potential qualification. These core subjects are supported by a range of optional and trade subjects. Students are guided and supported in their choices of optional subjects. All students will offer 9 subjects from their first year of senior school, which include the following compulsory subjects:
Students will choose three subjects from Accounts, Biology, Chemistry, Commerce, CRS, Fine Art, Further Mathematics, Geography, Government, Literature-In-English, Physics and Technical Drawing depending on their desired career pathway. Each student is expected to choose one trade subject from Marketing, Catering Craft Practice, Data Processing, and Auto Mechanics. Students are guided and supported in their choice of subjects by teachers and other professionals.
Rose Valley High School contributed a lot to my success, I learnt so many things during my stay in Rose Valley High School that has helped me to achieve a lot in my life. It is a place of discipline, a school that is concerned about the academic success of its students. I was taught excellence in all I do, leadership, team work, punctuality, how to be a goal oriented person.
I owe my high moral standards and discipline to Rose Valley High school.
A school that stood her ground in the days where malpractice was celebrated in Oko-Oba and the Lagos communities. I remember I and my friends at that time comparing this move by the school with dissatisfaction and with the argument that all others were celebrating it. Some even left, but see what it made us today
